Ansu Fati (born Anssumane Fati on October 31, 2002) is a Guinea-Bissau professional footballer. He is FC Barcelona's second-youngest player to make his debut. Fati currently plays as a left winger for the Barcelona team and is one of the team's most important players.

After moving to Spain at the age of six, he entered the Peloteros de Herrera quarry, then spent a year in Seville before enrolling at the Barça School in 2012. Fati signed his first professional contract with Barcelona on July 24, 2019, for a period of time until 2022. Fati made his first-team – and La Liga – debut on August 25, coming on as a late-game substitute for goalscorer Carles Pérez in a 5–2 home victory over Real Betis, before even featuring with the reserves. He became the club's second-youngest player when he made his debut at the age of 16 years and 298 days, just 18 days older than Vicenç Martnez in 1941.

At the age of 16 years and 304 days, Ansu Fati scored his first professional goal in a 2–2 away draw between Barcelona and Osasuna, becoming the Barcelona senior team's youngest goalscorer ever and the third-youngest scorer in La Liga history.

Fati became the youngest player in La Liga history to score and assist in the same match on September 14, 2019, in his first career start, at the age of 16 years and 318 days. Fati scored in the second minute and aided Frenkie de Jong's goal in the seventh minute in a 5–2 victory over Valencia at home.

Fati made his Champions League debut on September 17th in a 0–0 away draw against Borussia Dortmund, becoming the club's youngest player in the competition at the age of 16 years and 321 days, smashing Bojan Krki's previous record of 17 years and 22 days; he also became the competition's third-youngest player. At the age of 17 years and 40 days, Fati became the youngest goalscorer in UEFA Champions League history when he scored the game-winning goal in Barcelona's 2–1 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro on December 10.

International Career

Ansu Fati was born in Guinea-Bissau and was qualified to represent the country at the international level. However, he never did. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) expressed interest in Fati after his debut in La Liga, with Diario AS stating that the Spanish government had set its sights on granting him citizenship in order to include him in the squad for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Via his grandparents' birth in colonial Portuguese Guinea, he is also said to be qualified for a Portuguese passport.

On September 20, 2019, Ansu Fati was granted Spanish citizenship, renouncing his Bissau-Guinean citizenship. Following an injury to Carles Pérez, he was called up to the Spanish under-21 team on October 11, 2019. Ansu Fati made his debut for the Spanish under-21 team against Montenegro on October 15, 2019.
